NutriScience’s SalidroPRO™ is an enhanced-absorption, purified fermented salidroside. Salidroside is the most potent natural phytoactive compound found in rhodiola root. Rhodiola is a shrub which grows in high altitudes and has adaptogenic (stress relieving) properties. Rhodiola has been used for centuries and has been found to have multiple health benefits, including stress reduction as well as mitigation of physical stress caused by high altitudes.
Salidroside is a bioactive tyrosol glycoside which has been shown to be neuroprotective, an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory, enhancing the body’s resistance to physical and mental stresses. Today, the rhodiola plant is considered an endangered species, so collection and trade in rhodiola is severely limited. Therefore, to ensure an adequate supply of this important traditional medicinal plant’s bioactive, precision fermentation provides a stable and sustainable solution.
SalidroPRO™ is a nature identical salidroside complex produced through precision fermentation using genetically modified E. coli. Importantly, while the E. coli serves as the “factory” to produce salidroside, the final SalidroPRO™ product is free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
This patent-pending complex contains L-malic acid to enhance absorption and bioavailability for more efficient delivery of salidroside.

Mechanism of Action
The stress-protective activity of adaptogens has been found to be associated with regulation of homeostasis via several mechanisms of action, linked with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the regulation of key mediators of stress response, which include the modulation of gene and protein expression, including TNF-α, IL-2, IL-6, Bcl-2, and COX-2.
Salidroside is the primary phytoactive component in rhodiola roots, which have been traditionally used for their adaptogenic properties. Rhodiola/ salidroside has demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects, and salidroside plays a crucial role in enhancing physical and mental performance, reducing fatigue, and improving overall well-being.
Salidroside stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis, supports cell function in the presence of low levels of oxygen or hypoxia, supports glucose uptake, reduces antibiotic-induced gut microbiota disturbance, and other health benefits.
Scientific Studies
In a large, 6-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study, SalidroPRO™ promoted a better mental state by improving various aspects of stress management, with fast-acting results in as little as 1 week.
Participants reported lower feelings of anxiousness when handling stressful situations, resulting in tangible outcomes including: better focus, reduced anger, feeling more in control, and feeling less overwhelmed. Results were more pronounced in men and non-premenopausal women who experienced a more optimistic outlook, improved sleep quality, and better confidence.

Formulating with SalidroPRO™
SalidroPRO™ is a white, free-flowing powder. It has a slightly bitter taste and is water soluble. It can be used in various formulations including: RTDs, gummies, chewable, capsules, stick packs, etc. Typical dose is 50mg.
